What do we see in this poster?

koreanische-pfingstrosen-poster-misun-kim-artlia-online-art-galeria-4

This one on one Poster printed mural "Peonies“ by Korean artist Misun Kim shows an imaginative depiction of a vase with a variety of flowers and leaves, all painted in a typical Asian style. The first thing we notice is the bright red peonies, which almost magnetically attract the viewer's gaze. Compared to the other colors, the red stands out the most, followed by the yellow and pink flowers. It is a veritable sea of color surrounded by brown bushes and green leaves. The other plants frame the flowers and make them stand out due to their inconspicuous nature. Following the stems of the plants we finally arrive at the “vase”. It is not a classic ceramic, but seems to be a natural stone, which, however, appears in the most curious shapes and is strangely curved and deformed. The rock is somewhat reminiscent of volcanic rock due to its flowing shapes and dark color, but perhaps it is also the product of our artist's imagination.

Where can this poster hang?

This Peonies wall art printed on a poster is a classic Asian image with an imaginative, almost fairytale-like design. The bright play of colors and the unusual stone are guaranteed to attract attention. We particularly recommend it for environments that can benefit from the classic Asian look, such as a restaurant, but it also looks great at home.

Pfingstrosen (Living)

South Korean minhwa artist Misun Kim is particularly known for subjects such as "Mo-ran-do (牡丹圖)". Mo-ran (peony), a beautiful flower that blooms in Sokcho in spring, is considered a symbol of wealth, prosperity and beauty in Korean culture. Mo-ran is a favorite subject of Misun Kim, and in her works the flower takes center stage, surrounded by various backgrounds and props that are artfully depicted.

Misun Kim's paintings are characterized by fine details and a unique naturalness. The coloring appears slightly faded or aged, which gives her works a special aesthetic. This reflects Misun Kim's ongoing efforts to authentically revive the aged colors of traditional Korean folk paintings (Minhwa), rather than using modern color palettes popular in Korea today. Misun Kim interprets the Korean folk paintings in a new way, allowing us to view them from a completely different perspective.

Her works are created without the use of tools, but solely through breath control and concentration, which dispels misunderstandings and prejudices that traditional painting is boring and monotonous. In the works created through this process we encounter a world of painting that goes beyond the traditional aesthetic view and is more in line with the modern sense.

Misun Kim's works are proof that the calm and flat aesthetics of the past are in no way inferior to the dynamic and varied aesthetics of the present. She deserves recognition and support for her long efforts as she continues to strive for the traditional aesthetic that is often forgotten. Her works provide a bridge between the past and the present, presenting the timeless beauty of the Minwha tradition in a modern and appealing form.

Wunderbar
